Wool – The Other Fiber

Tamara has a cute post that inspired me to take a couple of pictures to share with the world. This sock toe is what became of the yarn on the bobbin in the header. It looked too good to hide in a shoe so I stopped knitting. More BFL, Navaho plyed. Here I’ve knitted up [...]

Dyed in the Wool

This became… …this. I still have some of the roving to spin, but it’s almost finished. No project in mind, just a color experiment. The yellow roving was gifted to someone so it won’t be making an appearence. Knit, Dye, Reknit The alpaca turned out too pastel. Once I knit it up I’m overdyeing it

Fibery Goodness

Recently our local fiber list keeper sent out an email that there were free fleeces for the taking from the county fair where she was demo-ing spinning. I put in my request, here’s what I got. The one on the top right was thrown out because it was so dirty. It was free, I didn’t [...]

The Beginning of Another Long Week

Tomorrow is Monday and I’ll be back at work sitting behind my computer. Two projects are in the works that need to be completed by the end of this week, the Accreditation Interim Report and the Faculty Handbook. The handbook is easy the report is more of a challenge. The challenge is that everyone wants [...]

Stump Work

Nope, not embroidery, this is stump removal at it’s best. No stump grinder for my guy, by golly. Claims he’s saving money at the gym by digging the stump out by hand. The boy dug at the stump in the beginning but gave up when it got too deep and the roots proved too much [...]

I’ve Been Knitting

Didn’t realize so much time had gone by since my last post. When you spend your whole work week in front of a computer it’s hard to justify spending more time on the computer when you get home. I have been busy though. My spinning group took a field trip to Bonanza, OR to pick [...]
