A Quick Knit

Feeling the need to actually finish a project I decided to use some yarn given to me as a gift almost a year ago and make myself a scarf. And, because it’s green this scarf also qualifies for the current month’s Project Spectrum. This one is extra easy as well as quick, it only took a few hours from beginning to end. There are two yarns used for this scarf, an Alpaca boucle and an Alpaca sport weight yarn. My friend bought the yarn from an Alpaca farm/ranch in Washington, I think Friday Harbor.

Alpaca Scarf

Easy Scarf Pattern

Yarn: For this scarf I used a heavy boucle and a sport weight smooth yarn.
Needles: US 10.5

Cast on 150 stitches with boucle and knit 3 rows.
Knit 4 rows sport weight
Knit 2 rows boucle
Knit 2 rows sport
Knit 2 rows boucle
Knit 4 rows sport
Knit 2 rows boucle
Knit 2 rows sport
Knit 2 rows boucle
Knit 2 rows sport
Knit 3 rows boucle
Bind off in boucle.

Fringe: Cut 30 strands each 10″ long from both the boucle and sport weight yarn. Holding one strand of each yarn together fold them in half and add 15 pairs to each end of the scarf.

Wash in lukewarm water and block lightly.

I loved the picture you staged for the scarf. It really showed off the colors and was eye catching to boot. Great jobon both the scarf and presentation.
